What is Character Recognition

The character recognition viewer in the AI section allows you to explore all of the on-screen text captured in your asset by Medialake.

This feature not only reports on text like captions, but also reports on other text characters that may appear in your asset such as text graphics, labels and branding.

It is worth noting that assets are searchable by the text and characters recognized within them.

Top Character Recognition

This refers to the top 5 texts that appeared most frequently in your asset.

By clicking on one of these texts, their locations within the asset's timeline will be displayed so that you can jump directly to where they appear.

All Text Found

This section displays all of the text/characters within your asset that have been identified by Medialake.

By clicking on one of these texts, their locations within the asset's timeline will be displayed so that you can jump directly to where they appear.

Sorting and Filters

Using the sorting and filtering options allow you to narrow down the text you see.

You can sort the text by either the time it appears in your asset, or by how confident Medialake is that the text was correctly identified and reported.

You can filter the text reported by changing the time frame within the asset you'd like reported on, or by changing the confidence levels of what text you want reported on.
